The year is zooming by and so is Sophia... she started pre-school, its more like an introduction since its only fours hours a week, but she is loving every minute of it. She starts the official preschool in September for two half days a week. She could probably handle more, but that is all I think that is all I can handle...
Our days are continuously filled with parks, playmates and everything else "kid themed"... Its really amazing how fast she is growing, we are still completely in love with her....
Loves:
~Dinosaurs
~Playing her guitar (gifted from Uncle Ruben)
~Singing
~Gardening with her daddy
School has me fully occupied me in the evenings, my courses are getting harder the closer I get to finishing my transfer units....

Goodbye 2009...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
It is my new theory that time flies faster when you have kids, so if you do not have any, take your time and if you do enjoy every moment to the fullest. Sophia will always be our baby but she is growing really fast. She loves everything Dinosaurs and is talking in complete sentences now, she is even starting to memorize her favorite books and react them with her dinosaur figurines. (I figured that came much later, I was wrong). She starts preschool on Tuesday, she is excited. It is literally right next door, when I told her she was going to preschool, she ran down the hallway facing the preschool and yelled, "I'm COMING".
She picks up on things very quickly, observing us and then mimicking. She has weasled her way into our bedroom for good (at this moment in time) and in the middle of the night when her elbow is in my eye and her legs are kicking my ribs she always has the courtesy to say "excuse me mommy". She is not yet potty trained unless she is bottom less then she will happily point out her "dinosaur poopoo" in her little toilet. Trying to get her to take a break while she is playing with her buddies is a different matter.
This video is a few photos from 2009...
Until next time....
(My camera is acting wacky so all our holiday photos are stuck, I will make another video when it starts behaving again.)

Favorite Toys: Dinosaurs figurines and her beetle collection
Favorite Books: "Big Words" by Jamie Lee Curtis, "Im Biggest Thing in the Ocean" by Kevin Sherry

Little Girl
Sophia is officially a TODDLER!! From talking to running to tantrums and opinions. We have been busy as usual with something always planned to occupy her mind and energy. Her appetite never ceases and since Halloween just past, she has really taken a liking to CANDY!!
Sleeping in her room has taken a turn for the worse since she stopped sucking her thumb. She refuses to sleep in her bed or her room. Instead she sleeps on the couch, which I cannot stand but it is a small price to pay so she can have a restful sleep. We have tried everything...
SLEEP=ROOM=COMFORT=THUMB
I am hoping this phase quickly passes...any more suggestions??
Other than that she is really growing and looking more like a little girl rather than a baby, kinda neat and scary all at the same time.
Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm still going to school so when she is sleeping I am studying. Until next time...
Enjoy the Video!!!

Growing....and more!!
This past month is flying by, Sophia is talking in sentences now and repeats everything in English and Spanish!! I continue to keep her busy with parks and any thing with animals. She loves giving hugs, even to the oddest of objects.... her chair, plants, animals and of course us! She loves food and eats anything, and although she is allergic to soy, she would still eat it. If I ask her if she wants some rice, she says "Yes mommy rice!" She loves singing and dancing, reading and playing. (Still trying to capture on video). We have started to look at preschools, which I think she will absolutely LOVE!!
I have yet to potty train her but will continue to try. She did go "poo-poo" in the potty today without me asking her, so any day now... When I do ask her she says "No Thank You".
Enjoy the Video!!
Don't forget to leave a comment...

Sophias 2nd Birthday!!
Oh my goodness, Sophia is officially TWO!!
Yesterday was her birthday... I am in shock of how fast this year went by, it seems like yesterday we were just celebrating her 1st birthday. My parents threw her a small birthday party on Sunday (before leaving for Hawaii) and invited Sophia's closest buddies. Her Tia Oli bought her the most delicious ELMO cake ever and she received lots of books, clothes and toys from everyone. THANK YOU!!
On her official birthday yesterday, I invited a few moms in my mothers group to join us for some cupcakes and watermelon. It was a normal day at the park except for the cupcakes and parachute which they all went nuts over.
In the evening, Myron and I took her to Fentons to have some ice cream and too celebrate a little bit more, she seemed a bit uncomfortable when the whole restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" but she soon got over it and blew out her candle beautifully.
