It is wonderful and exciting watching her learn and absorb EVERYTHING she hears (even the bad stuff). She is in preschool twice a week and loves every moment, if it were up to her she would go every day. We have been blessed with great teachers and the fact that it is right next door doesn't help one bit ;)

I have been doing alot more babysitting so she is never without a play date. When I am not babysitter we are out with our regular friends and playmates. Her sleeping habits have improved but their still not perfect, we still need to lay in bed with her until she falls asleep. Since it was taking her a while to go to sleep in the evenings we took her afternoon naps away and now she goes to sleep within a few minutes, exhausted. So its really not that bad at all.

Until next time... enjoy the video!!

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-9971786406609900712010-09-02T21:52:00.001-07:002010-09-02T21:52:36.757-07:002 to 3 Years
Click here to view this photo book larger
Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-2310730720233515372010-06-30T21:48:00.000-07:002010-06-30T22:01:27.460-07:00To Infiniti & BeyondSophia is officially THREE as of the June 10th!! She insists that she is not a baby but a "girl". She is potty trained completely, even at night. One day she just told me, "No more diapers mommy". She is talking, and talking, and talking AND talking (bilingual too)!! When she is not playing with her friends she is entertaining herself with her many dinosaurs, rocks and bug collection.

Loves:
~Everything DINOSAURS and can name at least 20 (she picks two different dinosaurs every morning to play with in the car and at home, she even sleeps with them)
~Animals (from snakes, to turtles, to dogs and cats, if there is an animal she is there)
~Her favorite line..."I have a hypothesis..." (from her favorite show "Dinosaur Train" on PBS) ~Swimming (if she could she would be diving with the older kids)
~Gardening (telling mommy, "let me show you")
~Reading
~Collects rocks
~Playing with her older cousins

Song: "We Belong Together" by Randy NewmanMommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-67668678273799038792010-04-08T23:04:00.000-07:002010-04-08T23:16:06.482-07:00Twenty-TenThe year is zooming by and so is Sophia... she started pre-school, its more like an introduction since its only fours hours a week, but she is loving every minute of it. She starts the official preschool in September for two half days a week. She could probably handle more, but that is all I think that is all I can handle...

Our days are continuously filled with parks, playmates and everything else "kid themed"... Its really amazing how fast she is growing, we are still completely in love with her....

Loves:
~Dinosaurs
~Playing her guitar (gifted from Uncle Ruben)
~Singing
~Gardening with her daddy

School has me fully occupied me in the evenings, my courses are getting harder the closer I get to finishing my transfer units....Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-3708824531641143482010-01-01T21:37:00.001-08:002010-01-01T22:08:13.215-08:00Goodbye 2009...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It is my new theory that time flies faster when you have kids, so if you do not have any, take your time and if you do enjoy every moment to the fullest. Sophia will always be our baby but she is growing really fast. She loves everything Dinosaurs and is talking in complete sentences now, she is even starting to memorize her favorite books and react them with her dinosaur figurines. (I figured that came much later, I was wrong). She starts preschool on Tuesday, she is excited. It is literally right next door, when I told her she was going to preschool, she ran down the hallway facing the preschool and yelled, "I'm COMING".

She picks up on things very quickly, observing us and then mimicking. She has weasled her way into our bedroom for good (at this moment in time) and in the middle of the night when her elbow is in my eye and her legs are kicking my ribs she always has the courtesy to say "excuse me mommy". She is not yet potty trained unless she is bottom less then she will happily point out her "dinosaur poopoo" in her little toilet. Trying to get her to take a break while she is playing with her buddies is a different matter.

This video is a few photos from 2009...

Until next time....

(My camera is acting wacky so all our holiday photos are stuck, I will make another video when it starts behaving again.)

Video Song: 1,2,3,4 by Plain White T's

Sophia likes:
Favorite Toys: Dinosaurs figurines and her beetle collection
Favorite Books: "Big Words" by Jamie Lee Curtis, "Im Biggest Thing in the Ocean" by Kevin Sherry
Loves to write in her notebook and carry business cards.Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-76728850865807601722009-11-03T21:47:00.000-08:002009-11-03T22:04:32.265-08:00Little GirlSophia is officially a TODDLER!! From talking to running to tantrums and opinions. We have been busy as usual with something always planned to occupy her mind and energy. Her appetite never ceases and since Halloween just past, she has really taken a liking to CANDY!!

Sleeping in her room has taken a turn for the worse since she stopped sucking her thumb. She refuses to sleep in her bed or her room. Instead she sleeps on the couch, which I cannot stand but it is a small price to pay so she can have a restful sleep. We have tried everything...

SLEEP=ROOM=COMFORT=THUMB

I am hoping this phase quickly passes...any more suggestions??

Other than that she is really growing and looking more like a little girl rather than a baby, kinda neat and scary all at the same time.

Sorry for the lack of updates, I'm still going to school so when she is sleeping I am studying. Until next time...

Enjoy the Video!!!

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-90287937652417682282009-08-15T22:22:00.000-07:002009-08-15T22:28:21.657-07:00Guitar SingingMommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-64217722902697797272009-08-15T22:03:00.000-07:002009-08-15T22:17:05.580-07:00Bubble Reflections...Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-30068933981347394282009-07-06T20:33:00.000-07:002009-07-06T22:56:18.466-07:00Growing....and more!!This past month is flying by, Sophia is talking in sentences now and repeats everything in English and Spanish!! I continue to keep her busy with parks and any thing with animals. She loves giving hugs, even to the oddest of objects.... her chair, plants, animals and of course us! She loves food and eats anything, and although she is allergic to soy, she would still eat it. If I ask her if she wants some rice, she says "Yes mommy rice!" She loves singing and dancing, reading and playing. (Still trying to capture on video). We have started to look at preschools, which I think she will absolutely LOVE!!

I have yet to potty train her but will continue to try. She did go "poo-poo" in the potty today without me asking her, so any day now... When I do ask her she says "No Thank You".

Enjoy the Video!!
Don't forget to leave a comment...

Video Song By:
U2 "I Still Haven't FoundMommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-37131928317311289112009-06-11T23:30:00.001-07:002009-06-12T14:49:34.399-07:00Sophias 2nd Birthday!!Oh my goodness, Sophia is officially TWO!!

Yesterday was her birthday... I am in shock of how fast this year went by, it seems like yesterday we were just celebrating her 1st birthday. My parents threw her a small birthday party on Sunday (before leaving for Hawaii) and invited Sophia's closest buddies. It was a normal day at the park except for the cupcakes and parachute which they all went nuts over.

In the evening, Myron and I took her to Fentons to have some ice cream and too celebrate a little bit more, she seemed a bit uncomfortable when the whole restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" but she soon got over it and blew out her candle beautifully.

Until next year...

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-51409356424775298762009-06-02T19:40:00.000-07:002009-06-02T21:21:29.685-07:00Past MonthWow this past month has flown by and as always Sophia is growing intellectually and physically. She never ceases to amaze us. She turns two next week, I can not believe it. It is flying by!! She is talking more and more everyday, it will not be long be for the conversations began. She continues to love reading (she is even attempting too), and eating. She is a girly girl even with all her friends that are boys. I try to keep her very busy in the morning by going to the park, zoo or indoor play gym in Berkeley. Then we come home for her afternoon nap.

Don't forget to leave a comment. ...

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-6456176970391367352009-04-30T20:17:00.001-07:002009-04-30T20:44:37.770-07:00Fort FundstonTwo weeks ago, we spent the day at Fort Fundston beach in San Francisco with Tia Oli, Tio Mario and her three cousins Mario, Gaby and Ruben. My parents recently moved to a new house with this huge piece of land as there yard. We took full advantage and the whole family came to celebrate. We had an Easter egg hunt, confetti egg fight, and a family kick ball game, among other things. I cannot wait till next year!! (Thank you mom for that delicious food, I wish we took some home)

Myron and I especially enjoyed the Easter egg hunt this year with Sophia...while looking she was saying "huevo... huevo" (Spanish translation = egg) SO ADORABLE!! She is talking alot more and is starting to say little sentences, both in english and spanish. But there is still alot of babble we do not understand. She will be talking in full sentences in no time. I still have not potty trained her but she knows where and what the "potty" is and what goes in there.

Sorry for the lack in updates, Myron is in school full time (LVN to RN) and I am taking a few classes, so our evenings are filled with homework on the computer.

Song: "Why Can't We Be Friends"
By: WarMommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-33851207490187612009-03-27T13:17:00.000-07:002009-03-27T19:11:05.043-07:00Shower TimeMommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-7716601306473067302009-03-15T17:31:00.001-07:002009-03-15T17:31:59.044-07:00Wake Up, Wake Up...

This is one of Sophias favorite songs from Sesame Street. She is saying small sentences now, both English and Spanish. I am even learning the basics. We are constantly watching what we say too, she catches everything, especially at the most vulnerable of moments.

I have lost count of the amount of teeth she has and she officially weighs 28.5 lbs. She started throwing tantrums but are trying to nip that in the butt, our motto is "ignore bad behavior and praise good ones", its hard but has seemed to work so far. Daddy is most gullible. She loves babies, giving hugs and kisses.

Food is still the object of her affection and she gets the sneakiest when she is around something she wants....HIDE YOUR COFFEE!! Since I watch Remy twice a week now, Remy and her have become very close. They have complete conversations, want to share everything and follow each others moods. I am curious to see how Sophia acts when her brother or sister come around...

No, I am not pregnant but we are going to start trying in June, hoping for a March/April baby.

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-37556916169045251372009-02-19T19:35:00.000-08:002009-02-19T19:57:58.291-08:00Tilden Park Little FarmAt the spare of the moment we decided to visit Tilden's Park Little Farm with Wendy and Toby. Sophia had a blast, she was a bit scared of the cow, especially his "MOOOOOO". Next time I am bringing some veggies for them to eat and some lunch for us.

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-65922614331687189092009-02-16T19:18:00.000-08:002009-02-16T22:25:41.131-08:00Sophia Update!!Well these past few weeks have been non-stop, Sophia is growing so much, its hard to keep up with her. She has tried beyond the back seat with doors and chairs, but hasn't mastered that part of her super powers yet....

Enjoy!!

Sorry I have not posted in a while, when I am not playing with Sophia. She is officially 18 months and 25 days old, five days from 19 months. She weighs approx. 28 lbs and is 32 inches long.

These past few weeks have been very busy and exhausting. My parents were visiting and staying with my brother so we made it a point to visit everyday. Sophia could not get enough of course, all her cousins are much older so they spoil her rotten. She refused to nap at all, so by the end of the day not only was she grumpy but very tired. All in all she had tons of fun!!

This weekend, it was Nate's birthday party with a soccer theme, SOPHIA loved it. When she is about two we are going to sign her up for the class. In the meantime, she is starting swimming lessons again in February.

Enjoy!

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-31324838591342682952008-12-25T21:11:00.000-08:002008-12-25T21:24:46.027-08:00Christmas 2008Today was a very casual day. Myron had to be at work at 7:30am so we got Sophia up early, so he could see her open her gifts. After she left she insisted on watching the "Santa Clause"classic cartoon. When it finished she said "bye santa"...too cute.

Santa bought her a cardboard cottage dollhouse, it is so adorable. It should endure her toddler years plus later on she can color it. The plus side is that it is "eco-friendly". Santa also bought her some mini furniture and small dolls. Her stocking was filled with stickers and small windup toys. Later on we ventured off to my brothers house to open more gifts, she got some music instruments, books, cars and a toddler camera. She has walking all over the house carrying it, saying "cheese" even though it does not have batteries yet (our little secret).

Merry Christmas!!

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-35680161223817425992008-12-21T23:47:00.000-08:002008-12-21T23:56:19.682-08:00December DaysMommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-26194441507766629162008-12-21T22:01:00.000-08:002008-12-21T22:45:12.671-08:00December EveningsThis time of year is officially my favorite. Sophia is 18 months and is exploring everything. Last year, she did not have any issues with Santa and this year we are really hyping him up, so now when she sees a Santa...she stares....and acts kinda timid and shy. She is slowly getting the idea of who he is...

We have also been doing lots of Christmas activities. Earlier we took her too the Polar Express. Last Saturday we took her to the Oakland Zoo "Zoo Lights" she loved riding the train and met Santa officially. We also enjoyed a ride on the carousal. Last night we took her too Fairyland where she once again met Santa (she was a bit taken back, though) and drank cocoa and played with the bubble machine.

Today we spent the day at Tia Oli's house for her cousins Rubens birthday. She came home officially exhausted. We are having so much fun!!

p.s. Mario is #2 Dad ...Myron is #1

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5173400927116862599.post-19275070036029979552008-12-11T22:34:00.000-08:002008-12-11T22:45:36.172-08:00The Polar ExpressThis past Sunday we ventured out to Sacramento, California to ride on "The Polar Express". For those of you who have read the children's book or seen the movie, it is an adventure and so is the ride. We went with Jeff (Dad), Thea (mommy) and Remy (Sophias buddy), who actually gifted us the tickets.

To Jeff, Thea & Remy: Thank you so much for inviting us, we had SO MUCH FUN!

The ride came complete with hot chocolate, cookies, tap dancers, the bum (character in movie) and last but not least SANTA CLAUS. Unfortunately Santa was extremely busy giving all the little ones gifts and was unable to take photos, he gave us all bells to ring. Sophia was in awe.... she was jumping, clapping and ringing her bell...im not sure if she is quite sure who Santa is, but I think she is getting the idea!!

Mommy Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06394594694822724050noreply@blogger.com1
